Watch: Sasha Go Hard “Pretty Fly”

09 Jan 2013 — Warren O'Neill

Taken from the forthcoming mixtape Round 3, "Pretty Fly" sees the Chicago rapper Sasha Go Hard cleaning up both lyrically and sonically in an attempt at reaching a wider audience. The ghetto-claustriphobia of her previous "drill" mixtape Do You Know Who I Am? is replaced on "Pretty Fly" by a more care-free party atmosphere. Thankfully, Sasha's rhymes work just as well in this new context, though the video is a bit questionable (I'm not sure if the inclusion of the white hipster types is an embrace or ridicule of her newfound fanbase). Whether or not this new direction is a reflection of Round 3 as a whole, we will have to wait for its release on Febuary 4 to find out.
