Mike Maramag better known as
Blackbird Blackbird just handed me this fresh, new track of his,
Halo, and the guy has all reasons to feel proud about this lovely, Real Estate inspired lo-fi heaven, going a lot more in the direction of his side project
Wolf Feet together with
Old Arc than the glitchy electronic soundscape we're used to hearing from him. Either way, I'd pretty much say that the song speaks for itself. Listen below.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida's Malcom Lacey aka
Arrange returns with the first single off his upcoming full length
Plantation, set for release May 17.
Turnpike is a slow burning piece of heartache and despair, with a frail piano melody and Lacey's hopeless voice and only a short horn arrangement towards the song's end to briefly break the almost oppressive tranquility. Simply beautiful.

Take a listen to some nicely arranged bedroom indie pop by Saugerties, New York enigma
Boylant (not the guy on above picture though), generally upbeat and happy with some subtle, less weird early Ducktails inspirations with its overall echo-laden production and hushed, murmured vocalization.

It's been a good winter for the psychedelic genre this year, and yet is there more to come. Being released at the digital label and music blog
[^] LAND on a name-a-price basis later tonight, we're happy to give you a little bite of what the split release of two still relatively unknown names,
Pressed And and
It Is Rain In My Face is all about.
Post-Ad For Sync is a weird ambient-psychedelic dream looking down at us from space, which according to the musicians themselves '
sounds undulate softly from a bubbling cauldron of tenderness and subdued passion, transforming sporadically into an overwhelming frenzy of mixed emotions'. Need I say more?
Make sure to keep an eye up at LAND's own
bandcamp page during the few next night/day hours (depending your location, of course) to grab your copy of this delicious, spaced-out digital split.

Magic, la "revue pop moderne" de Paris, République française, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the supposedly mind-blowing birthday cover compilation
C44, to be released digitally later this week and on cassette on the mighty
Orchid Tapes later this month.
Kinda wish we had something like this on our side of good ol' Rhine. We don't.
Below, enjoy the first tune off the comp to surface, the wonderfully lush indie pop gem
Emma's House by Seattle's rising
Seapony.

Remember that the whole Yu(c)k thing last year which culminated in the breathtakingly beautiful four-track cassette release
Weakend on
Mirror Universe was supposed to be some "piano focused side project" of everybody's indie darlings
Yuck? Well yes, I was confused as well. And apparently, too many people were, as today we've officially been informed that Yu(c)k was/is in fact exclusively singer/guitarist Daniel Blumberg's solo endeavor, and to avoid further complications he now has changed his recording moniker into the no less puzzling but at least more distinct name
Oupa.
Below, listen to the utterly amazing brand new track
Forget, once again drenched in pain and most fragile beauty. Daniel has a whole album coming out in June, and after listening to this gem we know it's gonna be hard to wait.

Other than the fact that they're hailing from
Umeå in Sweden, little is known about the newly emerged drone pop duo (?)
Det Lilla Extra. Describing themselves as 'witch house' however is something I would question, that is if you look past the reverbed vocals and drony, circulating synths. In fact, I would rather say that
Det Lilla Extra explores the hidden space within the dark, electronic pop genre than anything else, as if a slowed-down
The Tough Alliance were having a bad trip on LSD. Let's hope that more tunes will be available up on their
soundcloud page in not too long, so far only consisting of these two rather amazing tracks below.
