Umberto: “Welcome to the Chill Zone”.

22 Jul 2011 — Henning Lahmann
Solid Melts CEO Drew M Gibson kindly sent over this rad cut of Umberto's new cassette on his label. Welcome to the Chill Zone is, well, a very chilled out, slow-burning analog synth meditation, dark and deep but at all times very contemplating. Below, you may listen to the first part of that 20 minute excursion that spreads over both sides of the tape. Pro-dubbed and pro-imprinted manufacturing, strictly limited to 150. Pre-order right now here. Umberto - Welcome to the Chill Zone (Side A) Read more → Solid Melts CEO Drew M Gibson kindly sent over this rad cut of Umberto's new cassette on his label. Video Premiere: Jef Barbara - “Cocaine Love (DannielRadall Remix)”.

22 Jul 2011 — Henning Lahmann
On Monday, we already featured the incredible DannielRadall Remix of Jef Barbara's Cocaine Love, taken from their split EP that's up for free on Amdiscs' Soundcloud since yesterday. Now here's the exclusive co-premiere (together with Pendu NYC) of the video for the glory, an absolutely appropriate visualisation of the track's sleazy 80s synth extravaganza, nicely replicating the decade's aesthetics. Perfectly slick. As already announced earlier today, Jef Barbara will be on tour through Europe together with C V L T S and Dream Boat, starting July 30. Check here for dates. Video: Dream Boat - “Imissu”.

21 Jul 2011 — Henning Lahmann
The tune Imissu off Dream Boat's new LP Widow taken for itself is sick enough, but things get otherworldly creepy and outright terrifying in the Dylan Hayes-directed video for the song, a gloomy and blurry, strangely voyeuristic nightmare featuring young girls in a seemingly summery but definitely twisted setting. There's something deeply wrong, and as if the visuals weren't enough we're additionally confronted with the displaying of Imissu's dangerously insane vocals that were graciously unintelligible when we were first listening to the song alone. Widow will be out July 28 and is already up for pre-order over here. Dream Boat will join Jef Barbara and C V L T S for the Amdiscs Showcase EU Summer Tour, stopping at Berlin's King Kong Klub on August 4. Go here to see all dates. Also, the video for the next single will be directed by the mighty Wooden Lens. To fund the project, the guys have started a Kickstarter that should be visited right here. Chrome Sparks: “Show You My Way”.

20 Jul 2011 — Tonje Thilesen

We were honestly quite excited when we finally received the long-awaited mail about the new EP release from Chrome Sparks' Jeremy Malvin, the brain behind that ridiculously catchy single Basement Tapes last year. Except from dropping remixes for Blackbird Blackbird and Time Wharp, it seems to be a while since we last heard from this Michigan based tunemaker, whom is seemingly going more towards the glitchy synthpop genre than ever. Also, a little silly note: am I the only one who think he's singing 'I'll show you Norway'? Nonetheless, download the whole EP for free over at his bandcamp.

Forest Swords: “Trust Your Blood (Holy Strays Reprise)”.

20 Jul 2011 — Henning Lahmann
Just stumbled across No Pain In Pop's Soundcloud (via Friendship Bracelet's kind heads-up) and found this brand new remix of Forest Swords' Trust Your Blood, assembled by no one else but our favorite Parisian psych wizard, Not Not Fun's very own Sebastien Forrester aka Holy Strays, who's on a heavy jazz trip on this one. Simply incredible. Forest Swords' Fjree Feather 12 inch is still available over here. The sick, highly recommended Holy Strays 7 inch Enlightenment can be ordered directly via NNF. Refresh your excitement by listening to the b-side Phrenesia here. A Grave With No Name: “Origami”.

20 Jul 2011 — Henning Lahmann
Another fuzz pop gem by our dearest London slacker Alex Shields aka A Grave With No Name, this time less devastating than before and instead adding some nice uptempo vibes to his oeuvre, another very 90s backlash that instantly leaves us time-traveling to the hazy summers of our earliest youth.
