Rangers: “Glen Clarin (Remix)”.

13 Nov 2011 — Henning Lahmann
We still haven't fully grasped the whole gloriousness of Joe Knight aka Rangers' magnificent LP Pan Am Stories, without any doubt one of our favorites of 2011, but this guy is simply not willing to give us a break: Already working on no less than two new tapes that are scheduled for early next year via his and his pals' still pretty new imprint Brunch Groupe, he's additionally commenced to remix all (!) of his previous stuff, including the tunes off his stellar proper debut LP Suburban Tours, released last year via Olde English Spelling Bee (and, needless to add, also one of our albums of 2010). As for the Suburban Tours remixes, Joe says he's probably just gonna make them all available for free via the Brunch Groupe site, so keep an eye on that - and as a start, enjoy his first, very worthwhile rework of "Glen Clarin" below. Rangers - Glen Clarin (Remix) Pan Am Stories is out on Not Not Fun. Seriously, get it while you can. Pigeons: “Chances”.

13 Nov 2011 — Henning Lahmann
Soft Abuse has made available "Chances", another gem from Pigeons' brand new full-length They Sweetheartstammers, a piece of gently muffled psych rock that sees singer/guitarist Wednesday Knudsen's usually clear and sweet voice manipulated to come off subdued and rather restrained, perfectly matching the overall foggy late night atmosphere of the track. Get They Sweetheartstammers now over here. Micke Lindebergh: “I Can Feel It Coming”.

12 Nov 2011 — Tonje Thilesen
I stumbled upon Sweden-born Micke Lindebergh by a mere coincidence as I was Soundcloud hunting the other day, whom quite fittingly released his first full lenghtDynamite Boy on his own label Banananokowa International a short while ago.Dynamite Boy has a little bit of everything: raw, Swedish pop, quirky beats and (forgive me for saying) nostalgic synth riffs, and while Micke claims the album track to be his own very favourite off the album, my ears caught greater attention in a few other songs including "I Can Feel It Coming" and "Danger Angel" (please ignore the awkward title of the last mentioned track), both gorgeous, winter-esque pop songs. In fact, with so many splendid tracks throughout the album, it surprised me that he chose Dynamite Boy as the single, which strikes me as slightly boring compared to the quality of his other material. Oh well, maybe it's just me. Download some of these gems exclusively below, and don't forget to purchase the record over here. Peepholes: “Tunnels”.

12 Nov 2011 — Henning Lahmann
Stoked by London/Brighton duo Peepholes' latest offering "Tunnels", the leadoff single from their forthcoming full-length Caligula. This is classic cold wave, with crystal-clear analogue synth pads, totally over-the-top vocalization and staggering, absolutely relentless drum machine backing - excessive and flamboyant yet still somehow restrained and self-controlled, probably a bit like Gordon Gekko would behave after a long day of making trouble. Caligula is out November 28 via Upset The Rhythm Peepholes - Tunnels Read more → Stoked by London/Brighton duo Peepholes' latest offering "Tunnels", the leadoff single from their forthcoming full-length Caligula. Ramirez (Hype Williams): “A.M.Y.”.

11 Nov 2011 — Henning Lahmann
And they'll never stop. The male half of our favorite stoner duo Hype Williams, Dean Blunt, has delivered this unbelievably rad deranged house jam named "A.M.Y." under his new moniker Ramirez, bad-tempered drivel over an immensely infective groove, this one's straightforward and excellent. Highly recommended. The one-sided 12 inch is now out via Rush Hour. Be quick and cop it here. Re-visit the latest Inga Copeland as well: Inga Copeland - Belvedere Read more → And they'll never stop. Premiere: Scarlet Chives - “So Sing We”.

11 Nov 2011 — Tonje Thilesen
The self-titled debut album of Denmark's shoegaze/dream pop six-piece Scarlet Chives might be one of my favourite records this year, now recently signed to the Norwegian label Riot Factory. With a mixture of noise, shoegaze and electronic pop, I guess one can draw many similarities to Brian Batz' more famous project Sleep Party People, all though Scarlet Chives proves to be of a very different caliber, brighter and unmasked, but with a mysterious veil intact. For some reason the record has been quite literally overheard since it dropped in Denmark and and the UK earlier this year, but hopefully things are about to change. Nonetheless, enjoy this splendid little gem below, and do not forget to check out the remaining tunes on Scarlet Chives. You won't regret it. PREVIOUSLY:

Future Shuttle: “Opal Star”.

10 Nov 2011 — Henning Lahmann
A few months after releasing their long-awaited and aptly lauded EP Water's Edge, Brooklyn's finest spaced-out synth ensemble Future Shuttle (formerly a duo consisting of Jessa Farkas and Camilla Padgitt-Coles, now extended to a four-piece including flutist Lizzie Harper and percussionist Linnea Vedder) returns with another piece of extensive, sprawling psychedelia, recorded for an upcoming cassette release on Netherlands-based imprint Samling Recordings. No definite release date yet, but the floating beauty of the girls' eight-minute exploration sure makes us wish that this time we won't have to wait for too long again.
