I stumbled upon Sweden-born Micke Lindebergh by a mere coincidence as I was Soundcloud hunting the other day, whom quite fittingly released his first full lenghtDynamite Boy on his own label Banananokowa International a short while ago.Dynamite Boy has a little bit of everything: raw, Swedish pop, quirky beats and (forgive me for saying) nostalgic synth riffs, and while Micke claims the album track to be his own very favourite off the album, my ears caught greater attention in a few other songs including "I Can Feel It Coming" and "Danger Angel" (please ignore the awkward title of the last mentioned track), both gorgeous, winter-esque pop songs. In fact, with so many splendid tracks throughout the album, it surprised me that he chose Dynamite Boy as the single, which strikes me as slightly boring compared to the quality of his other material. The self-titled debut album of Denmark's shoegaze/dream pop six-piece Scarlet Chives might be one of my favourite records this year, now recently signed to the Norwegian label Riot Factory. With a mixture of noise, shoegaze and electronic pop, I guess one can draw many similarities to Brian Batz' more famous project Sleep Party People, all though Scarlet Chives proves to be of a very different caliber, brighter and unmasked, but with a mysterious veil intact. For some reason the record has been quite literally overheard since it dropped in Denmark and and the UK earlier this year, but hopefully things are about to change. Nonetheless, enjoy this splendid little gem below, and do not forget to check out the remaining tunes on Scarlet Chives. You won't regret it. PREVIOUSLY:
