Last year we declared our love to the indie rock seven-piece The Rest and their lovely jam "John Huston", whom shortly after the hype suffered of an unfortunate hard drive loss of their almost finished debut record SEESAW, which obviously never saw its day of light. However, through the help of the same company whom are responsible for airplane black box recoveries, the material was miraculously brought back to life, and The Rest can happily announce that their debut will finally be released at the beginning of 2012 (yay!). Prior to the release, the band just put out a lovely A-side for free download through their bandcamp. Video: Hear Hums - “Shrines”

As the super-duo Mitch and Kenzie from Gainesville, FL stated in the e-mail: "we created the album art ourselves with crystals, moss fallen from trees, soil and pebbles". So, if the delicious album cover isn't enough to catch your interest, then Hear Hums' newest track and music video "Shrines" almost certainely will. The duo is just about to release their third album entitled Opens, which will be out on bandcamp in "late 2011".

:papercutz - “Disintegration (The Cure Cover)”.

Bruno Miguel, the frontman of Portuguese electronic/ambient outfit :papercutz just sent over this splendid new jam, which surprisingly enough turned out to be nothing less than a cover of The Cure's "Disintegration" from '89. It is exciting to hear Bruno experiment with bigger, less ambient-leaning sounds, and together with the ethereal vocals of Melissa Veras, the result is a shoegazing, electronic pop dream taken to a whole new level — without letting go of that particular atmosphere of the original. oddlogic: “BLAZAR”.

Don't you even dare to miss out on Outlier Recordings' splendid new release of Brooklyn based oddlogic, ironically enough entitled No Reason Whatsoever. The synth-heavy club jam "BLAZAR" is probably one of my favourites from the EP, literally having the words 'instrumental future beats' written all over it. The rest of the EP is by far less club infused as the track below however, with organic, quirky soundwaves shining through the surface like a beam of light through murky water — or something in that direction. Apparently you get a 50% discount if you enter the words 'noreasonwhatsoever' into bandcamp upon downloading (ending tomorrow at 11.59 PM). What is a better way than to celebrate the coming of a new season with a box fresh mix for y'all? Starting out with a brand new jam from James & Evander's recent Concellating EP, we move on with the splendid collab between WALSH and Persona La Ave, before the beatmaking genius Ryan Hemsworth from Nova Scotia kicks in with "Castle In England", taken from his newest EP A Way. Further on, the minimalistic Drifter gives us the gorgeous "Elliot" released back in May, while it's impossible not to love up-and-coming Torkelsen ridiculously catchy "Simple" (from his recent 7 inch split with Hard Mix), nor the beautiful Rainbow Chan and her star picking. We continue with Mount Kimbie's "Carbonated" (from the recent Daytrotter session), Chrome Sparks' party starter "Doubt, No", organic soundscapes of 2011 favourite Balam Acab, Lukid's take on BNJMN, dark glitch-pop of the mysterious The-Drum and last but not least, Stay+'s genius remix of Junior Boys' "Banana Ripple". Premiere: Machine Birds - “Time”.

The pretty-girl duo Machine Birds of Norway's finest west coast city Bergen are back with a lovely little surprise for you all: the brand new pop harmony "Time", which you can have your very first listen to below. The tune is just what to expect from these two young, promising musicians: sweet and catchy, but just enough to avoid falling too much into the pile of 'sugary indie pop' (which we tend to have a lot of here in Norway) — at the same time as their mysterious, melancholic Cocteau Twins-influenced sound is lurking somewhere in the background. The-Drum: “Omar”.

I was literally blown away already after the first listen of The-Drum's "Omar" which dropped in my inbox only a few minutes ago; a bass-heavy, R'n'B infused psychedelic trip of a track, spiced up with echo-like vocal samples and heavy dubstep influences, a little similar to our own rising super-duo Purity Ring, in a way. After a quick research, The-Drum turns out to be made up by Brandon and Jeremiah of Chicago, and have apparently been uploading tracks on their soundcloud page since March, but seemingly been missed out by us somehow, until today.
