The Polish electronic/experimental artist Bartosz Dziadosz aka Pleq seem to be a relatively busy producer these days, recently not only dropping exciting, new collaboration projects, but also the incredibly stunning music video for My Piano Is Broken (Rain Again) (with Anna Rose Carter) below, made my no other than master of the arts Volkan Ergen. Pleq's newest project however entitled 'The Gravity Lens' is a collaboration between himself and Barcelona based Mikel Lauki, resulting in a 21-minute long cinematic ambient/drone track evolving from a lush dream into a frightening nightmare of a dying city — much of it thanks to those fizzing field recordings.
The CDR is limited to 50 physical copies only which can be ordered right here, while you can grab the EP for an affordable price via bandcamp.
(Also, we/I honestly believe this might be one of the best music videos of 2011, so don't miss it.)

Psychics is a woozy yet comparatively glaring (no, I don't think this is a contradiction) take on restrained cold wave, with Gabel's signature grim crooning even more hidden behind a curtain of layered synths than ever before. Very promising.

As usual wonderfully crafted video collage by NFOP favorite The Tearist, this time for Parisian experimental folk quartet Rrose Tacet. The Dark is the very pop-infused title track from the group's new four-track EP, a lush tune that's not at all shying away from grandiosity.

Gentle guitar playing, quirky, electronic tweaks and a gorgeous, mellow voice and there you have it: the young singer/songwriter and musician Rainbow Chan from Sydney, Australia. With a camera in the one hand and a field recorder in the other, Chan went on a produced material for her upcoming full-lenght in various places in Europe: cafés in Reykjavik, at the London metro or at tiny hostels in the rural city life of Paris, which finally made her all the way to one of the remaining six finalists of FBI Radio's Northern Lights competition 2011.

Eerie vibes over and over in this ice-cold new synth wraith that was written for those late night hours when you're not sure if you should stay or leave this forlorn club where you'd forgotten to have fun hours ago anyway but well there has been this mesmerizing lady over there seductively dancing for ages now and you can't turn your eyes away cause you could swear she's looked at you once or twice after midnight and now you don't know, there might be a chance though all things considered, she looks like she's up to no good with her cat-like eyes anyway and honestly, it would be best to just get out now and walk through the early morning fog, back into that ugly sleeping city and out of this surreal, devastating place. But you'll stay.

The news may surprise some of you, but there really is deep and dark and totally awesome, forward-thinking electronic music out there that is made by artists who are actually not signed to Tri Angle. Case in point: South London enigma Felicita, who once again has left me awe-struck with his production of thickly layered heavy bass patterns, irresistible beatworks and all the right vocal sampling in all the right places.

Our dearest friend and blog buddy Jheri Evans of Get Off The Coast has been making music for a little while under the moniker Pariah Carey, and we can't help but wondering how he manages to get time to run his Altered Zones contributing super blog, the smashing label Crash Symbols while at the same time crafting together some suriously catchy glitch-pop tunes which he drops on Soundcloud several times a month. His very newest creation is based on Ghibli's Brahman(formerly known as Jaded Hipster Choir), a blissful, bubbly remix set in a dreamy landscape of soundwaves. Don't miss this one out, guys.

When we discovered Rey Villalobos' solo project House Of Wolves a few months ago, it felt like picking up one of those surprisingly sparkly stones hidden amongst scrap that's been washed up to shore on a rocky beach, holding it up against the sun and let the beauty unfold itself before your eyes. Indeed, House Of Wolves' mysterious beauty and pure honesty is impossible to dislike, and we felt quite honored when Rey hit us up and wanted us to premiere his very first video for the track Acres of Fire, taken from his debut full-lenght Fold In The Wind, which was released on bandcamp last month.
We're also excited to present House Of Wolves' Europe tour which will take place in October, but in the meantime, don't miss the gorgeous, summer-esque video below, directed by Rey himself.
