Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo: “The Ghost”.

It's easy to forget about reality after being on constant travels for three months, backpacking from the one remote place to the other in the amazingly photogenic southeast Asia. Coming back to civilization again is not the easiest thing, but I was lucky enough to be met by an e-mail and a so-called 'welcome home gift' from the Norwegian electronic/indie five-piece and NFOP favourites Put Your Hands Up For Neo-Tokyo (with members from both Young Dreams and The New Wine), whom just released their first single due to their upcoming album Mausoleum. If you happened to stumble upon the earlier version of The Ghost which they put up on their Soundcloud page a while ago, you might hear a huge improvement sound-wise — the production is obviously richer and the sound more defined, even though the song was mainly recorded at Njaal's own apartment. Indeed, we can't wait to hear what they are up to next, and just let me say this: the album version of The Blood of Brethren is rather superb. Keep your eyes up for these guys. Act So Big Forest Compilation Vol. 2: Auriel.

The incredible Colorado-based music collective Act So Big Forest has finally issued the much-anticipated second installment of their compilation series. The 2011 Spring Edition named Auriel features 24 mostly brand new tracks by the community's wide-spreading roster, among them gems by NFOP darlings such as Moon Tides, Thrifty Astronaut, StaG, Ambassador Engine, Kevin Costner Suicide Pact, and of course ASBF poster children Candy Claws. As expected, the result is not only pretty eclectic but most of all pretty amazing and just another demonstration that Colorado does have one of the most thriving and forward thinking purely independent music scenes nowadays (yes, we've said that before).
