She couldn't remember how long she had been lying there now, on the kitchen floor, sleeping. She didn't dare to open her eyes. Not yet. That dream... All others were long gone. The balloons...were there any balloons left? She couldn't tell. It didn't matter anymore. She didn't feel anything at all anymore - or did she? Wait, there was something...now she realized. She was covered in confetti, millions of tiny confetti shreds, blue, yellow, green, purple, red confetti shreds. She was falling asleep again, smiling. There was something else, after all.

OK, I feel like I've got a confession to make as a creative disclaimer for this write-up. Yes, there was a time way back in the nineties when I still was an ignorant kid that I used to be into the Smashing Pumpkins, even, admittedly, very much so. And now that you know and apparently continue to read nonetheless, I'm more than happy that my all time favorite Pumpkins song (the one that I actually and shamelessly still adore) has finally been covered, moreover by none other than our admired Grenoble dream pop advocate
A.P. Witomski. He has achieved to transform
Mayonaise into a tune that has its place in second decade of the 21st century, preserving Corgan's melancholy while adding some distinct features of contemporary pop music. Along with his stunningly beautiful song
Canionical that had surfaced roughly two weeks ago, Witomski is heading into an ever more promising musical direction. Listen to more of his recent stuff as well as his lovely debut album

Weird Korea's epic, nearly nine minute spanning garage rock masterpiece
Dagger that was dropped into my inbox this week might just be the right thing to express my overall spirit right now. The Purchase, New York outfit has managed to compose a piece of gorgeously raw beauty, valve amplified, somehow 70s rock informed complete with guitar solos and organ parts that has kept me awestruck almost all day. The song, and one hell of a song it is, is part of Weird Korea's debut EP

Dwight Pavlovic might quite possibly be one of the sweetest people around. For his girlfriend Liz Toler, whom also runs
Royal Rhino Flying Records together with Dwight himself, he kindly asked one of her favorite musicians Mat Cothran aka
Coma Cinema to write a song about the two of them exclusively for her birthday. The whole thing, including a remix by
Gobble Gobble premiered on
Get Off The Coast yesterday.
"I hope you enjoy the results of my feeble attempt to impress a girl that in reality deserves nightly festivals to mark how wonderful she is".

Our favorite dude from the terrific Denver/Fort Collins, Colorado music scene Matt Sage aka
M. Pyres has finally released one of his highly anticipated new EPs.
Mountain Pacific, recorded together with The Season Creeps, namely Joseph Yonker on bass and guitar and drummer Erik Wangsvick, collects five songs that were newly written or rewritten for the release and recorded in Fort Collins between spring and summer 2010.
Concord is a typical M. Pyres song, featuring roughly distorted guitar washes and Sage's signature raw voice, as usual slightly mixed into the background. On the other hand, the EP's strongest track
Japanese Milk Truck heads into a more ambient direction as known from earlier M. Pyres efforts such as
DSMMR or
Museums, though this new instrumental is more thoroughly based on actual song structures. Most remarkably, it features
Julian Lynch on bass clarinet, making the song sound like it would not have been out of place on Lynch's very own, beautiful album
Mare.

Tom Hamill's literally spaced-out ambient tunes, heavily Boards Of Canada influenced gems recorded with 80s synthesizers and some guitar works, finished with samples from old UFO documentaries. The music is quite an easy listen, slowly floating along while indeed evoking images of old movies with more or less friendly, more or less intelligent beings from galaxies beyond human reach.
