I guess
Fuji Kureta aren't actually new "hotshots" to this continuously growing network of music (already covered a while back over at
Smoke Don't Smoke and
Elbows) but on the other hand - who cares? This sweet little downtempo electronica duo from Istanbul released their first EP entitled
Sweets back in June, packed with tunes that might remind you a little of the Japanese minimalist electronica scene, featuring artists such as
Baiyon, Yuichiro Fujimoto,
Aoki Takamasa or

David from the Atlanta, Georgia dance/synth laden electro outfit
Roman Photos just sent over the title track from their upcoming
Ribcage 7 inch which is about to be put out by
Army Of Bad Luck very soon. The vinyl includes
Ribcage and
Closer on the backside, and comes with a CDr of remixes of both tracks. You can stream everything already on their
bandcamp. The tune is a pretty awesome dancefloor filler, with a heavy bassline and a reduced rhythm section quite reminiscent of the DFA squad, and that has never been a bad thing basically.
Along with that, I felt like posting my absolute favorite from their last EP
Into the Night, released in August and available for free download via their
bandcamp. The cool and smooth late night comedown score
Resident has been on heavy rotation on my desktop since then but I somehow totally missed to also share it with you sometime. Odd thing, that me.

Show Me A Grave starts rude but quickly unravels, leaving the space for a short peace of floating ambience, a real sonic landscape enriched with quiet vocal samples in the background, dark and dreamy all along.

On October 15th, my favorite Norwegian singer-songwriter
Moddi will drop his very first international release in UK and Germany via
Impeller Records, and only a couple of days ago the EP was also put out for free download over at his
bandcamp. The EP features the lovely track
Rubbles taken off his debut album Floriography back in February (in my opinion, one of the best records of 2010) along with two exclusive tracks, one that was previously only available on the vinyl. With beautiful, Björk-like vocals and melancholic tunes that belongs to the ocean and mountains of northern Norway, Moddi makes me forget about time itself. And that, my friends, is the reason why he's among my top 5 favorite musicians.

Bringing you some more hot music from the Norwegian music scene, Bergen-based Lovecult mixes new genres with old: shoegaze and post-punk plus psychedelic and krautrock from the 70-s. All though they've been around for two years, the six-piece hasn't released any new material since their EP Liebling back in '08. However, a debut album is in the making (according to the band itself), hopefully to be released sometime next year. For now, the four-track EP is available for free download over at their Urørt site.

No Wave is the work of Pensacola, Florida resident Jonathan Gehrdes. The aptly titled
Night Owl leans towards some of this year's rather psychedelia-infused dance music. There's more stuff available for free on his
bandcamp. An album named
1991 is scheduled for later this month.

Albuquerque, New Mexico dude Ryan Gabel's one man lo-fi psych pop project
Arc Light had been on my radar since my pals over at
Ashtapes had introduced his music
in late August, but he only very recently regained my full awareness when the impeccable
Rose Quartz folks
told us about Arc Light's new album
Westinghousing which was put up to his
bandcamp roughly two weeks ago. Moreover, it turns out that Gabel has relocated to Brooklyn since the first time I've encountered him, and on the western shores of Long Island he has written and produced most of the songs for his sophomore output. Needless to say, those new tunes absolutely live up to the promises Gabel made with his
self-titled debut effort. Arc Light might be bedroom music in the true sense of the term, considered that every single sound was recorded by Gabel himself via Garageband, but this doesn't prevent the tunes to be very well crafted and a highly enjoyable listen. Soon, we're gonna hear even more new stuff by Gabel in the shape of his other project Rage City, which is him doing the vocals over
Tony Bonanza's instrumentation, another splendid lo-fi dude who
we had on these pages back at a time when everybody was still talking about the World Cup.

Yesterday we were finally blessed with the brand new EP by the collaborations project
Seeing Suge, a project put together with some of our favorite people around; California-based Mikey from
Blackbird Blackbird,
Star Slinger aka Darren from Manchester and the 19 year old rapper
Emay from Canada.
Even though the big distance, this still hasn't stopped them from making the beautiful track Breaking together, featuring the very best gems of their own music blended together into one, sparkly track. In addition to the single, they've also put out some of their own work on the EP — tracks that will be featured on their upcoming albums: Little Respect (Blackbird Blackbird), 1987 (Star Slinger) and Sleep (Emay).
