Without making a fuss of it, the incredible folks over at Tokyo, Japan's Cuz Me Pain label have managed to establish a pretty decent profile that gathers some of the most interesting contemporary electronic experimentalism. Alongside the amazing Nites - who we had on our pages before - the rather closemouthed artist collective includes such rad musicians like Faron Square, AAPS (who played live with Ducktails on Mondanile's Japan tour this year), and Yosuke Tsuchida aka :visited. Check out some of their tracks below, this is all very exciting, laid back yet mildly danceable and subtly lo-fi infused electronica, I seriously haven't come across something so well crafted and original in quite a while. I fear it is rather tough to get your hands on one of their physical releases if you're not in Japan, but it would for sure be worth a try.

Aaron Landgraf from Colorado's mighty bedroom recording project Ambassador Engine sent over a little EP, a few brand new songs that were recorded quickly while Aaron was home for the holidays. The tunes are all slow-burning, ambient-laden guitar/piano tracks with a little help of electronics and Aaron's reverberated, calmly mourning voice, melancholic gems made for the dark season.

According to his bandcamp description, Kiss Kiss Fantastic's one half Jeremy Mullins is "just a kid with a mic, a guitar, and music editing software", but of course you may rest assured that you've just read the understatement of the year. On Christmas Eve, Mullins has delivered one of 2010's most gorgeous pop outputs under his solo recording moniker Optimist Park. Mount St Helens is a collection of gently psychedelic and devastatingly beautiful songs, leaning towards shoegaze and classic, late 80s informed dream pop, with lots of noisy distortion and reverb: an album perfect for getting lost, wherever you are. Download the whole thing for free here and prepare to get all cozy and dizzy and happy and sad.

Halls is the pretty new recording project of south London, England resident Samuel Howard. And yes, you can stick to all those associations that pop up in your head when someone names that particular location. Howard's sounds are not dubstep, yet they do have a certain similarity concerning the use of deep and dark synth patterns and deranged, distant vocal samples. This is finest loop-based electronica, very urban indeed, lonesome, wintry, and captivating. And, by the way, it feels good to finally have some talented Englishman up here again.

It's often hard to keep up with all the music that drops into our inboxes, which also means that I sometimes unfortunately miss a music submission or two on the way. As I recently started digging through my inbox again, I happened to stumble across an e-mail dated almost a month ago, of which I somehow had overseen. Based out in 'guess-what-city' of NY, the two-piece Lizard Kisses spent a month in a house in West Wardsboro, Vermont, where they recorded the lovely EP Sleeping In, filled with nine dreamy lo-fi tracks you definitely shouldn't miss. Get it for free via their bandcamp or order a physical copy here.

I guess it's almost impossible not to post anything related to this very season; so here are some relaxing Christmas tunes that might be a little different than usual. The fairly mysterious (and so far anonymous) Golau Glau released their Christmas EP Myrrh & Myth earlier this month, which you can download for free from their bandcamp site.
