When Einar Stray played together with Moddi and Therese Aune in Oslo a couple of months ago, they brought a long a sign language interpreter to translate the music into silent words for the deaf. As hilarious as it might sound, the result was actually surprisingly beautiful, and looked more like a strange, mysterious dance rather than a 'plain' translation. The concept was taken one step further in the video for "Yr Heart Isn't A Heart" from his debut album Chiaroscuro, which indeed makes a pretty interesting watch below. Holy Other: “Know Where (Andy Stott Remix)”.

We assume you've loved the Haxan Cloak remix of Holy Other that we posted yesterday as much as we do, so here's another treat from said Bleep compilation that we'd almost missed. This one is even more intriguing, Manchester's Andy Stott adding some frighteningly dark touches to the already pretty dark original, inducing trance-like states over the course of almost eight breathtaking minutes with a terrifying, relentless four-to-the-floor techno beat. So. Seems like h-pop is slightly going hip-hop recently. Apparently not only Outer Limits Recordings' Sam Meringue has joined the legion of beatsmiths now, the latest track from James Ferraro's new project Bebe Tunes is on a pretty massive hip-hop trip as well. Seriously, so good to have MJ MJ Records back in business - this week, the dudes over at the Los Angeles boutique imprint, that had faced impending demise earlier this year after the owners had been robbed, dropped yet another amazing cassette, Catamaran's self-titled debut effort. Catamaran is an incredibly talented young producer from NYC whose tight beats are equally laid-back and frantic, nicely blending lush dream pop elements and dancefloor-ready rhythm sections, as showcased on our favorite track "Land Jewel". We feel quite honored to be able to premiere the newest found-footage creation of none other than Jamie Harley, whom has been quite busy with crafting videos for the likes of How To Dress Well, CANT, Clams Casino and Twin Shadow this past year (which you obviously should know by now). This time, Jamie has once again picked Paris' Koudlam on the menu, bringing the title track of this year's Alcoholic's Hymn EP back to life with footage from the 1962 documentary Mondo Cane ("Dog World"). Strange, psychedelic and as always: strangely captivating. Watch below, and don't forget to snatch a copy of the EP here. Listen to the gorgeous first track off Nightrunners, the second full-length by Altar Eagle, the duo comprising Foxy Digitalis/Digitalis Recordings head Brad Rose aka The North Sea and his wife Eden Hemming-Rose. "Carousel Ocean" is a lush, bright, tinkling pop song that slowly reveals layer over layer of crystal-clear chord progressions, carried by Eden's beautiful vocalization and staggeringly finished with an amazing analogue synth solo by Brad. Nightrunners is due sometime in spring 2011 and will be released via Type, which had already released the duo's first effort Mechanical Gardens in 2010.
