Yohuna “Apart”

Long-awaited material from the amiable Eau Claire native and vital member of FMLY, Johanne Swanson who performs and records as Yohuna has finally reached our ears. Her absolutely stunning EP Revery was released from Art Fag Recordings in January of 2011, nostalgically representing a strong place in many of our hearts. Swanson's song writing is delicately intricate and effortlessly convinces wearisome thoughts to vanish. 

"Apart" takes on more than scratching the surface of a broken psych. Clinging to an intoxicating warmth, the track resolves with peace of mind and resolves that moving forward from the past is more than okay. The vocals swirl majestically around your head and soar especially when the lyrics, "I don't need anything to remember you by..." come in. Bright synths and the laid back snare hits cue an early 90's-esque pop, classic vibe. 

The track is featured on a now sold-out Le Sigh zine compilation cassette released from Birdtapes, also highlighted with our friends at 420 Love Songs. 

Unsure of what Yohuna's next step will be, but we only ancticipate more so our daydreaming can continue. Stream below, drift away.
