Our dearest friends Rachel Levy (Kiss Kiss Fantastic) and Fabien Le Gourrierec might never have met each other in real life, but do they know how to compose music together — despite the fact that the one is based in LA and the other in France. Behind their rather ridiculous name Kitteh Fur lies a mysteriously beautiful sound, bringing us nostalgia and curiosity at the very same time: Fabien's whispering, mysterious vocals accompanied next to Rachel's dreamy innocence. It's called 'Celebrate Summer', the a-side to the last single Marc Bolan recorded before his death. Make a pool call and get tan while u can, summer's almost over."

Superb summer vibes coming from the Land of the Rising Sun, say hello to Friends aka Shota Kaneko and pals, whose dead honest 60s surf pop reverence already made some blog rounds late last year after dropping some rough demos via bandcamp. The roughness prevails as the band is about to put out their proper debut, a 10 inch named Let's Get Together Again, which is going to be released by Japanese imprint Second Royal Records in October. Friends' sound drowns in a surge of washed-out noise and guitar fuzz, but despite being hopelessly lost in a maze of Wilson-dripping nostalgia, Our Love Is True has everything to become my favorite summer jam in an instant.

It is barely a few weeks ago since we wrote about the young UK singer-songwriter Jordan Bolton and his pretty much amazing track Lull, where we also promised to be back with more tunes of his very soon. Soon is now, and Bolton recently uploaded his second experimental gem City Daze up on Soundcloud — a weird-sounding, almost six-minute long track, whereas the first minute is entirely based on Bolton's own spoken words, evolving into a gorgeous little melancholic ballad. Arizona resident and producer Jacob McNaughton aka Galapagos (not to be mixed with Melbourne based Galapagoose) is back with his fourth EP release this year, as usual full of glitchy synthpop tunes which at times may have a strong influence of our own superstar Star Slinger. Big Cat is definitely far more upbeat and summer vibed than his earlier releases, which have had a more chill, ahem, ambient leaning sound.

Always delighted to find new Henny Moan tunes up on his Soundcloud, as the London-based master of weird and deranged beats perfectly knows how to transcribe the arcane peculiarities of latter day pop culture into little gems of agreeable if twisted sound infusion, very much like his fans over at HW. With roots from Gothenburg, the experimental pop outfit Slutet is a name behind many sounds: sometimes eternal, breezy psych-pop or sometimes a more noisy, organic feel, often leaning towards the electronic genre. However, they still seem to be in the progress of finding 'their' particular sound, always experimenting with new textures in hopes of evolving into something even bigger, and they are indeed walking on the right path to success. Having recently recorded a splendid live session with Pool Sessions, we're also excited for our own hot date with these Swedish experimentalists, hopefully for an upcoming NFOP Session this fall.

Denver's splendid Fire Talk Records sent over this blissful cover of Neil Young's Powderfinger, marvelously executed by Brooklyn outfit Flower Orgy with a little help by Alex Bleeker shredding the guitar on this one, a tune that instantly evokes all summery feelings you could ever hope for, and listening to this I have to say that I've never found a band name more aptly chosen.
Bleeker also recorded most of the songs that comprise the group's self-titled cassette on Fire Talk that's now up for pre-order over here. Highly recommended if you have just a little bit of love in your heart.
