Totally being on a serious new wave trip since this brand new
Hausu gem dropped into my inbox sometime this week, another raw and rather dark-ish tune as usual mainly thanks to the vocalist's deep crooning that is, I know I've mentioned that before, almost creepy in its perfect Ian Curtis resemblance. Though I don't agree, I kinda dig that the
Seattle Times referred to this as "power pop".
Makiadi will appear on the Portland-based outfit's forthcoming self-titled three-track 7 inch that's gonna drop sometime soon via our dearest Portuguese boutique imprint

The Norwegian art rock outfit
Lama have put away the once heavy guitars and seemingly brought in the microphone for good, resulting in a relatively different, but refreshing new sound to the Oslo based six-piece. As they so honestly admit themselves, it is not the first time Lama is renewing their sound — having been through periods of post-rock, electronica and jazz, however always to find themselves going back to that shoegazy, Mew inspired sound in the end. We've had a little pre-listen to the album (which is due to September 30th at
Spoon Train), and can already assure that you will love it.

Once again I'm splendidly gone and enchanted, having lost myself in the ethereal soundscapes of San Francisco-based Amanda Harper aka
Running in the Fog. Her gloomy and deliberately lo-fi chamber pop floats somewhere between Nite Jewel and earlier Grimes without ripping off any of her contemporaries' distinct styles, instead coming up with something entirely her own. In particular the influences on the marvelous track
Missed the Rain reach back as far as 1991 trip-hop with its slow burning drum machine beat, the subtle synth pads and an overall restrained instrumentation, leaving the listener alone with Harper's beautiful voice that's almost entirely hidden behind a thick layer of mist.

After playing a splendid, heart-warming live set at the Huset Ved Sjøen festival last month, we at NFOP feel honored to share this exclusive live session with you all, recorded in Middelalderparken, Oslo - the home of the annual Øya festival in August. recently introduced enigmatic South London producer
Felicita, among others. I'm not entirely sure what this whole project is all about, so for now suffice it to state that these are some seriously awesome visuals as well as a sick and absolutely apt score/mix to go with it, and that very well works as a standalone aural pleasure as well.
