This is weird, but it is. We know next to nothing about Monster Rally, if it is a single person, or a band, where he/she/they come from, what their favourite cheese is, what keeps them awake at night. But on the other hand, it doesn't appear to matter. This is sample-heavy sunshine pop, strangely beautiful and beautifully strange, and the self-titled EP's cover says it all. You can download the whole thing for free via Monster Rally's bandcamp page (a myspace doesn't seem to exist).

Take this to the beach and put a smile on everyone's faces around you. And as a start, I'd suggest you put your feet on the desk and ask the next person you come across to get you a cocktail.

London's Hypermagic is not there to confuse you. It's not there to make you dance or sing. It won't hurt, though it probably steal time when you get lost in the slowly meandering synth patterns and the relaxed drum machine beats that are only occasionally covered by a high voice singing quietly without interrupting the overall flow. Most likely, the music has no ambitions whatsoever to change your life, but if you're willing to abandon yourself, Hypermagic's shoegaze will most probably leave you a little more free.

Noise in the sunshine. Fort Lauderdale's Ouija are among the few contemporary guitar bands on myspace that candidly list Nirvana as one of their main influences, but in this case it would be quite a tough job to deny that anyway. Though I wouldn't dare to call this "grunge", Ouija's approach to melody structures of utmost beauty within noisy and rough surroundings bears nonetheless a striking resemblance to early 90s northwestern rock. And without doubt, despite all the careless lo-fi attitude, this is pop in its purest form. This is most significant as regards Belladonna: if you are patient enough (and you should be), out of all that hiss and roar an absolute gem of a tune will unfurl.

I'm not sure if you should quote me on this in December, but now, right at this very moment, this most amazing thing ranks very high among my records of 2010: Nika Rosa Danilova aka Zola Jesus and Pocahaunted's Amanda Brown have joined their witchcraft forces, and just as expected, a collaboration between our most beloved Wisconsin gothic vibe and one of LA's most exciting tropical haze drone psychedelia couldn't result in anything less than total awesomeness.

The LA Vampires & Zola Jesus EP has been released by NFOP favourites Not Not Fun as a 12 inch, limited to 600 items. This is deep, this is dark, this is absolutely brilliant.

Some fine fuzzed-out lo-fi summer tune leaning heavily toward all kinds of tropical offsprings, delivered freshly from the Sunflower State, brought into these spheres by the presumably single performing mystery named Katrina Stonehart. All information that we've got is that Katrina will have a 7 inch out called Japaneseloveshow on Amdiscs sometime very soon along with two extremely limited split cassettes with Vehicle Blues (A.
