While still living up north, many a night was spent in the sacred if moldy halls of Hamburg's weirdest but definitely most exciting and plainly best venue Golden Pudel Club down by the docks, infamous for endless nights of just about anything you never dared to dream about. Last year in mid-May, Manchester's Demdike Stare spent a whole weekend at the St. Pauli-based club, spinning records the first two nights (MLZ on Friday, Sean Canty on Saturday) before performing live on Sunday night. A 59-minute recording of this show has now been put out by the venue's own label Pudel Produkte, a dense and mesmerizing example of the duo's signature dark and hypnotic sonic art.
