Dent May “Let Them Talk”

Oxford, Mississippi’s Dent May is back with more soft wave retro-futurism on “Let Them Talk.” Though May has long been absent his magnificent ukulele, “Let Them Talk” follows many of the same pop contours as earlier singles like “Meet Me In The Garden” – bright, open spaces and vocal parts that seem inspired by equal parts Dirty Projectors and elevator muzak. Dent May is still fairly under the radar for a lot of music publications, but “Let Them Talk” should prove that the cabana pop balladeer deserves as much acclaim as any of his Paw Tracks label mates.
