After being voted up as one of the five nominees to 'artist of the year' over at the Norwegian underground music site Urørt, Bergen-based duo Machine Birds is just about to break the surface. They've been playing beautiful pop music together since 2008, sometimes a bit in the direction of Susanne Sundfør or Therese Aune, minimal and fragile but at the same time heartbreakingly soulful.
