After his recent excursion into rhythmic realms with his Cross-sectional Studies cassette on Exo Tapes, Michael McGregor aka Meadowlands is back with pure ambient bliss on his latest work The Sounds of Skyline Blvd. The 20-minute meditation, composed on Korg DSS1, "and recorded after returning home from a misty visit to California", is split into the two parts "Palomarin Trail" and "White Caps Way Off in the Distance", both emitting an immersive sonic glow that instantly generates a thoroughly peaceful state of mind which gets further augmented while watching the accompanying visuals that marvelously depict a Californian sunset slowly rolling in over the coast (be sure to watch it in full-screen mode).
