Mind Dynamics “EcoLogo”

Brooklyn's Mind Dynamics have been called magnifiers of "lifestyle economy" via their thickly shimmering sounds that emulate the action of driving past traffic signals and techno-saavy street scenes. "EcoLogo," taken from Precision Instruments, out next week on Vancouver tape label 1080p, swells and folds and unfolds onto, out of itself, while persisting forward to some unspecified goal. It bears a busy-ness that doesn't ever explain itself, like the decayed voice saying something with conviction yet without comprehension. Steel blue and pristine machinery used with irony comes to mind midway through the song, when the pitch shifts slightly to make the entire song sway into a different mood. Pristine machinery doesn't always go hand-in-hand with unpredictability, yet it works so well in this track. Such conundrum has also been successfully created in the works of Actress and James Ferraro.
