As I sat down with
Maribel by the shoreside of the beautifully located Norwegian festival
Hove, I didn't have the slightest idea what to expect from an acoustic set with the Norwegian/German shoegazers. Only hours after their energetic live appearance, it was hard to think of them in a different sound context than soft vocals drenced in cinematic guitar noise, and especially not on the rocky shoreside Tromøya, only a short walk from the festival site itself. But then again, it was exactly the kind of atmosphere we needed after a long travel, and indeed, a superb start of the Hove festival back in June.
Watch and listen Maribel play
Flesh & Blood taken from their 2009 LP
Aesthetics, that was followed up with the splendid second full-lenght
Reveries last year.
