We're thrilled to present our very first CMJ showcase with
Hype Machine, curated by yours truly and our dearest friend
Yvynyl, bringing you some of our very favourite names this year to an all-nighter at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg. Our most exciting act is brought to you all the way from their base in Berlin (all though originally hailing from Oslo); the weird and energetic "Tækno" in aid of the all-hardware duo
Bloksberg. Before the two of them will bring your ears into an occult space odyssey, Brooklyn's finest pop experimentalists
Hooray For Earth will warm up the dance floor with their monumental, psychedelic synth pop, followed by another exciting NFOP regular and
Cascine signees: the absolutely brilliant
Jensen Sportag. Just if this wasn't enough, Yvynyl has also picked another two excellent names to complete the roster, our beautiful friends in
Hundred Waters and Captured Tracks kid
Mac DeMarco.
The whole beauty kicks off at
6PM, October 18th on North 6th and Wythe Avenue, and is free of charge (!) — just remember to RSVP
right here before it's too late. A special guest will also be confirmed closer to the CMJ kickoff, and as it just happens to be a certain someone's birthday that day (cough), we sincerely hope to see all your pretty faces on the dance floor with us.
Here's also a brand new track from Mac DeMarco:
