A real pleasure today to unveil the fabulous b-side of the first-ever 7" release on our little label Stratosfear (re-visit the introducing interview with Disco Naïveté over here), Solar Year's lush and sprawling synth pop wonder "Magic Idea", premiered today over at Dazed Digital. Where flipside "Night & Day" is propulsive and forceful with tribalism-induced undercurrents, "Magic Idea" showcases the Montréal duo's slightly darker and introspective side, landing in a delicate yet musically persuasive place that sounds like, in the apt words of a trusted friend, "what Hurts could've been if they hadn't become complete kitsch".
