In case this relentless sunshine has made you all dizzy and woozy today, what about some mind-altering UK electronics to complete another sweaty summer night? The excellent, techno-indepted and ambient-leaning five-track EP Obelisk comes courtesy of critically acclaimed London group Circle Traps, and you may exclusively stream it now in full below. The trio – consisting of Portico Quartet member Duncan Bellamy, Will Ward, and Jack Wyllie – blend soothing and swirling, mesmerising textures with intricate rhythm patterns, clearly giving preference to experimental procedures while not being all that inclined to go pleasing the dancefloor-minded crowds; but you know that we're always just fine with that. The word is that Circle Traps is also an amazing live band, which we'd like to see for ourselves but for the time being totally believe unquestioned. The EP in any case is really rather excellent, so take a listen below.
