We’ll never get tired of this.

Night Manager are three guys from the States and one girl singer from Paris who have joined forces in Brooklyn to play hazy fuzzed out lo-fi pop close to The Bitters or Best Coast, guitars drenched in Phil Spector-ish reverb and an overall upbeat feel to it, and as you'll certainly know, that's all it needs to put a bright smile on our faces. The two tunes below are the first two published on their myspace, but very soon there's much more to come, and right now NFOP is drowning in anticipation.

After yesterday's raving about Blackbird Blackbird's wonderful debut LP, here he comes again, this time collaborating with Canadian outfit Neon Canyon for a blissful summer morning tune that perfectly sums up both artists' signature, smooth echoed voices traveling somewhere behind lush synth patterns, immediately taking you to a better place.

We've been reading about Mikey S. aka Blackbird Blackbird before on these humble pages, but since our favourite and most delicate San Francisco dream boy has released his debut album Summer Heart LP digitally a few days ago, it has been spinning on constant repeat (if mp3's do spin), filling our ears with ever growing summery joy and happiness. So basically the only thing I wanted to tell you right now is GO BUY this marvelous piece of synth-leaden chillwave goodness via the artists' bandcamp site, it's worth every single penny. Even more exciting, our most beloved bearded white guys over at Wonder Beard Tapes have announced the album's physical release on cassette in September. nn

Mikey has most kindly given me the permission to post my two favourite tracks of Summer Heart for your delight, along with two amazing remixes by Brothertiger and Coolrunnings.

Blackbird Blackbird - Ups & Downs

Blackbird Blackbird - So Sorry Girl

Blackbird Blackbird - Happy High (Brothertiger Remix)

What can I say? Italo disco synth madness from Tennessee, absolutely staggering. That's about it I guess. Oh, and the artist is Brandon Biondo.

Biondo's debut EP will be out in August on the impeccable Amdiscs.

Thanks once more to the amazing Ashtapes, I've come across Oakland's Glass Graves a couple of days ago which is Gaby Graves' solo effort. Situated somewhere between the Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, and Zola Jesus, Glass Graves is a haunted, goth version of classic shoegaze themes. This is dream pop imagined during a nightmare, dark yet beautifully captivating.

You can download Glass Graves' debut album Architecture via the artists' bandcamp site.

These strange times we're in, there's an obvious mismatch between bloggers' anticipation and an artist's demand for their own creative output. While the blogger is already raving about the "fresh" and "rad" qualities of a tune that was recorded with the internal mac microphone (lo-fi!!! no-fi!!! shit-fi!!!), the shittier the better, the artist might well consider that very result just some demo stage tryout. However, sometimes this share of creative indifference towards the sound quality of the output is able to lead to instant stardom, see Nathan Williams' first album that was celebrated at least in part simply because of these features.

So if you listen to Portland, Oregon's garage outfit Youthbitch's latest tune, please bear in mind that it's a demo, or, in other words, not exactly meant to sound that way. Still, the rad/hip blogger somewhere deep inside me likes Cool California just the way it is right now, and I guess it's because the way it was recorded perfectly fits the lyrics and the overall bitter irony towards contemporary Golden State hipsterdom.

Shuttling between Georgia and California, you've got plenty of time to come up with the greatest ideas to create fuzzy lo-fi experimentalism, but apparently, sometimes imagination stops when it's time to come up with a fancy name for your musical endeavour. Be that as it may, Gerry Green has named his project Green Gerry which probably is his names interchanged, and the Athens, Ga. native makes laid-back hazy tunes that are quite experimental yet easy to listen to, presumably best digested during dreamy beach hours in the fading sunlight. On Last.fm, somebody has tagged him as "tropical drone folk", which pretty much puts the whole thing in a nutshell.
