Hi guys, This is my first ever track using this alias. Basically - people listen to the music more openly when they don't know anything about the person, when it's "Untitled". So I've decided I'm going to go forward this way. Just like Mr Sutton, we don't know who's sent us this mail that included a link to the Youtube audio stream that you find below. What we do know however is that we're thoroughly intrigued and fascinated by the dark, slow-burning track "#001 ", with its straight and unobtrusive base, the well-aimed vocal samples and the remote sounds that add up to something faintly resembling a melody. So whoever you are, please feel free to send more. We'll listen. Read more → Hi guys, This is my first ever track using this alias. Jermaine Soul: “It’s Time We Part”.

09 May 2012 — Tonje Thilesen
I have to give a little shout-out to those fine folks over at The Sound Is Not Asleep PR for digging up all these splendid electronic gems for us, most recently the new NFOP favourite Russell Harmon — and this time we were promised Mount Kimbie, Sepalcure and Flying Lotus to be amongst the influences of their brand new found. I guess they might as well be right: the Leeds-based producer Jermaine Soul is a name you all should tap down in your digital notebooks, as we're undoubtably sure we won't be the first to obsess over these crunchy beats. Video: Kinlaw - “One Day”.

Watch the very fitting, very pretty visualisation of one of Kinlaw's recent tracks, "One Day". Really hope there's gonna be some kind of proper release by this very talented young Englishman sometime soon. Ad Hoc Co-Premiere: Brandlmayr / Dafeldecker / Fennesz - “Till the old world’s blown up part 2”.

09 May 2012 — Tonje Thilesen
Co-premiere with Ad Hoc M=minimal, the Berlin based label and home of the most excellent German drone and experimental sounds, is set to release a three-way collab between Brandlmayr, Dafeldecker and Fennesz on May 21st. We have the first listen to a mind-altering excerpt of "Till the old world's blown up and a new one is created part 2" that was handchosen by Dafeldecker himself. Exploring the relationship between sound and silence, this terse work dips into fragments of motifs that ring through a stifling lack of noise, only to fade away upon moving through the stillness. Huge stretches of silence engulf the listener until an affecting arrangement of tone clusters washes over the piece, quietly dissolving into chilling nothingness. Till the old world's blown up and a new one is created will be available on 12" for worldwide orders on KOMPAKT soon. Sleep ∞ Over: “Romantic Streams (CFCF Remix)”.

09 May 2012 — Henning Lahmann
The world already had its fair share of Sleep ∞ Over remixes, but here comes another particularly gorgeous one, or, as I am inclined to say after listening twice, an almost ridiculously beautiful one indeed. Canadian producer CFCF obviously can do no wrong. His latest, very pretty EP Exercises will be released by Dummy on June 21. Video: Wolther Goes Stranger - “Money”.

09 May 2012 — Henning Lahmann
Wolther Goes Stranger has been the solo project of A Classic Education member Luca Mazzieri since 2007, but for some reason so far it has completely slipped my attention, though the fine folks over at Get Off The Coast (RIP) championed him two years ago after he had handed over a CDr before his bandmate Jonathan Clancy aka His Clancyness had played at SXSW. Anyway, while "Money" is nothing like the dance-y, gloomy "Playing Filter (The Sookie's Game)" back then, it still is a pretty dark offering that adds a little extra marvelousness with its subtly unsynchronized, off-kilter male/female vocals. It's a cover of this song of course, but coming from these Italian fellas, the line "I want to buy you something / But I don't have any money" sounds strangely more threatening and bleak, if not somewhat hopeless. "Money" is part of Wolther Goes Stranger's new EP A Lovely Boy, which is out now via Italian imprint La Barberia (which means barber shop, as apparently the business is run from inside a real barber shop, go figure). You may stream the EP in full over here and get it on cassette here. Limited edition of 100. Video: Dent May - “Best Friend”.

09 May 2012 — Jesse Thompson
If you've followed this site or pretty much any independently leaning music blog over past few years, then there's a great chance you've already heard of Dent May, and your ears have had the good pleasure of experiencing his fantastical pop magic. Here's his first official video release since 2009 and the first from his upcoming LP titled Do Things available June 12 from Paw Tracks. The "Best Friend" video was shot in May's hometown of Jackson, Mississippi and is directed by fellow Mississippi native, James Alexander Warren.
