Spells, a relaxed but rather upbeat piece that features Evan's signature distant vocals drenched in reverb, accompanied by splendid synth melodies and nice samples, cut off and chopped up, three minutes of building tension until the whole thing falls apart again. Delicious.

myspace, it has turned out that it's still actually not very easy to track him down, as he also has
another one. So when I first tried to reach him after posting his wonderful

In any case, long story cut short, it needed Paul's intervention to get in touch with me, and now everyone's happy. Yesterday saw the release of Paul A Rosales' first proper LP

Care In The Community Recordings, which is in fact a collection of tunes that have been recorded between 2006 and 2009. The twelve tracks are pretty lo-fi, but in line with the other seriously gifted artists of his class (yes, you may think of
Nite Jewel now), the recording technique does not appear as a mere means to show off insipid nostalgia, but rather seems to be an honest and distinct approach to music itself, and in this case the result is a stunning and beautiful collection of songs with a perfect pop sensibility that won't leave your head for days -

Phillip Oskar Augustine returns with another beautiful and captivating four minutes of jangly hypnosis, lush experimental pop on the edge of fuzziness and with amazing harmonies, recorded all analog on an 8 track reel to reel after Wallace's computer equipment had been stolen recently. Though we feel sorry for him, it's good to hear that his art has survived.

On the western edge of Canada, Alex Calder aka
Collagé Party produces blissful upbeat summer waves that fit perfectly into all seasonal moods you might encounter theses days. Calder's tunes are splendidly crafted bedroom jams, laid back but not avoiding a certain amount of experimentalism, without doubt embracing the latest contemporary blog buzz style but at the same almost effortlessly finding a very unique signature, this is certainly music of a very promising young artist.
